How does this group buy thing work?
We work by combining the buying power of multiple families, using our numbers to negotiate a discounted rate or coupon code for an item. Sometimes the discount may be a few dollars but sometimes we hit the sweet spot and get a discount of 90%! Typically our group buyers can expect a 25-50% discount.

How do I sign up for a buy?
Visit our Open Buys page, click the buy you’re interested in, and sign up! Once upon a time I used my personal email account to coordinate buys but Gmail thought I was a spammer and shut my email down. I use a newsletter system now to avoid that hassle.

Signing up for a deal is simple! We used to have this really complicated procedure with multiple newsletters, but it worked better in my head than it did in reality. To make things easier I have instituted a shopping cart so you will pay for your item immediately. So, to sign-up for a deal all you have to do is go to the shop, find the item you want, and pay! You’ll be sent an email receipt, please refer to the Buy Page for shipping date details.

Who are you?
Who, who? Who, who! (Are you singing it with me?)

Hi! I’m Melissa. You may have worked with the fabulous former site owner, Meg. She has handed the reins over to me and I look forward to working with you. I am a homeschooling mom who is also a certified teacher in Florida. My family is active in homeschool groups local to us. I also work as a tutor and Florida homeschool evaluator through my other website. You can check out the testimonials page to hear what people have thought of previous buys, and you can read more about me on the about page.

What kind of buys have you done in the past?
We’ve worked with quite a few companies in the past, the majority being online curriculum suppliers. We’ve done group orders with Oriental Trading Company, Education.com, Prodigy Math Game, Tales2Go, Enchanted Learning…and those are only a few!

Is my information secure?
Yes! Pinky Promise! No one likes spam and junk mail less than I do, trust me. I promise not to share ANY INFORMATION you give me, with anyone, for any reason. Truth be told, I probably won’t even look at it. There is a chance one of the programs I use to organize things or process payment may have a breach of security, but if that happens I’ll let you know when I know.

Are my payments safe?
Goodness, yes! I take your security very seriously, and rest assured that I and my helpers won’t even see your payment information! We use a third party credit card processor and they’re the only ones who have access to your information, and they don’t store your entire card number. As with all online purchases there is the chance of a breach of security, we advise that you always pay with a credit card and keep a close eye on your monthly statements.

What payments do you accept?
We use PayPal to process all payments. We currently accept e-checks, PayPal funds transfers, major credit cards, and debit cards through PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use this system.

I’m sorry but due to continuing problems we are unable to accept mailed checks and money orders.

What is a handling fee?
So here’s the thing…some of these buys may only take me a few hours from start to finish but others require hundreds of hours of preparation, execution, and follow-up. This is time I have to pay for, babysitters aren’t free, unfortunately. Additionally, running a website means more costs.┬áThe handling is a surcharge I add to help offset my costs and will vary from $1-3 per buy, depending on how much time and how many resources I expect it to take. Each group buy and form will note any handling fees or other fees involved with the buy. Your group buy purchase will still be lower, often MUCH lower, than if you buy directly from the manufacturer/company even after adding in these fees.

Are your products Common Core aligned?
Some are, some aren’t. I have feelings about Common Core but when it comes to this website and its mission, my feelings just don’t matter. Because it’s a hot button topic I will list if a program or item is aligned or not and let you make your own decision.

What is your refund policy?
Generally speaking, all sales are final. We will grant refunds FOR ONLINE SERVICES on an individual basis if it can be verified that the product you purchased cannot be used with your system IF you had no indication that it wouldn’t work, if we have both exhausted all attempts to fix the issue with the supplier, and if the supplier refunds me (I can’t refund you if they already have the money!) All sales of tangible items are non-refundable.

Refunds for products damaged during shipping: Please note that we have several shipping options available, including shipping with insurance. Products damaged during shipping will be refunded only if a shipping option with insurance is purchased (first class with insurance or Priority Mail). Because refunds are made out-of-pocket, as of 8/4/2016 we will no longer refund shipping-damaged items that were not purchased with insurance.

Refunds will not be given for: change of mind, typing the wrong name or address in the order form, using the wrong PayPal account, incompatible devices, damage during shipping (unless you use a shipping method with insurance), mail that doesn’t arrive (unless you use a shipping method with insurance).

How can I contact you?
